Georgia Artists with DisAbilities, Inc. (GAWD)

Georgia Artists with DisAbilities, Inc. supports artists with disabilities throughout Georgia by providing opportunities to display and sell original artwork, compete for awards, and gain public recognition for their artistic accomplishments. Selected winning artwork may also be included in a statewide traveling exhibition. The organization welcomes a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, pottery, sculpture, photography, weaving, woodcarving, and other forms of visual art.

StatewideGAWD serves artists with disabilities throughout Georgia. Exhibition, drop-off, and touring locations vary by year, so participants should review the current Call for Art and event information.

Eligibility Requirements

Open to Georgia-based artists with disabilities. Each artist may submit up to two entries. Current entry requirements include a completed entry form and photographs of the artwork. Additional exhibition rules and submission requirements may apply each year. Review the current Call for Art before submitting.

High School (14-18), Transition Age / Young Adult (16-26), Adults (18+)

Artists of different ages may participate. The 2025 entry form specifically identifies student artists age 18 or younger, while the broader program also serves adult artists. Contact GAWD for current age-related participation requirements.

Service Format

In Person

Primary participation centers on in-person exhibitions, art drop-off, awards, and traveling exhibits. Some prior virtual art shows have also been offered.
