Aerie Experiences

Aerie Experiences provides therapeutic outdoor and adventure-based programs designed to support social, emotional, executive-functioning, and daily-living skill development. Programs include summer sleep-away camps, respite weekends, paddling, horseback riding, expressive arts, scuba, wilderness experiences, and a supported young-adult lake house program. Aerie uses small groups, a 2:1 camper-to-staff ratio or better, experienced staff, treatment-team consultation, and individualized support to help participants build confidence, friendships, independence, and life skills.

National / Available to Georgia ResidentsAerie Experiences is based in Georgia and serves children and families from across the Southeast and the United States. Programs may take place in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and other locations depending on the camp or expedition.

Eligibility Requirements

Programs are primarily designed for children, teens, and young adults with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, related neurodevelopmental needs, and developmental trauma. Families complete an application describing diagnosis, strengths, support needs, treatment history, behavioral concerns, medications, allergies, and goals. Acceptance and program fit are determined individually, and age or functional requirements vary by program.

Age requirements vary by program. Many summer camps are designed for participants age 8 and older, the scuba expedition serves ages 14+, and the Aerie Adults Lake House program serves young adults age 16 and older. Contact Aerie to confirm the age range for the specific program.

Programs are primarily delivered through in-person overnight camps, respite weekends, outdoor expeditions, and supported recreation experiences. Some pre-camp home visits and remote consultation with families, schools, or treatment providers may also be available.
